According to preliminary statistics, Vietnam’s export of paper and paper products in July 2021 is estimated at 130 million USD, down 12.0% compared to June 2021 but up 4.6% compared to July 2020. Generally in the first 7 months of 2021, Vietnam’s export of paper and paper products is estimated at 920 million USD, up 14.1% over the same period in 2020.
According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, in June 2021, Vietnam’s export of paper and paper products reached US$ 136.7 million, an increase of 6.6% compared to May 2021 and an increase of 29.6% compared to June 2020.
In June 2021, the US and China were the two largest export markets of Vietnam’s paper and paper products, with export turnover of US$39.2 million and US$34.2 million, respectively. Exports of paper and paper products to these two markets both increased in May 2021 compared to June 2020, with growth rates of 67.6% and 7.1% respectively.
Generally in the first 6 months of 2021, the US is the largest export market of Vietnam’s paper and paper products, with export turnover reaching US$185.2 million, up 24.4% over the same period in 2020. In contrast, exports to the Chinese market decreased by 8.5%, reaching 146.4 million USD.
About import:
According to preliminary statistics, import of all kinds of paper in July 2021 is estimated at 190 thousand tons, turnover is 184 million USD, down 8.5% in volume and 9.1% in turnover compared to June 2021; but increased 16.2% in volume and 35.5% in turnover compared to July 2020. Generally in the first 7 months of 2021, paper imports of all kinds are estimated at 1.4 million tons, with a turnover of 1.3 billion USD, up 25.2% in volume and 38.9% in turnover over the same period last year. 2020.
According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, paper imports of all kinds into Vietnam in June 2021 reached 199.6 million tons, with a turnover of 194.8 million USD, down 9.4% in volume and 9.4% in turnover compared to May 2021; but increased 31.6% in volume and 59.1% in turnover compared to June 2020.
In June 2021, Vietnam imported the most paper of all kinds from the Chinese market, with an import volume of 45.9 thousand tons, a turnover of USD 54.9 million, up 32.2% in volume and 77 percent. 4% in turnover compared to June 2020.

Generally, in the first 6 months of 2021, India is the market with the strongest growth rate, with import volume reaching 15.4 thousand tons, turnover of 12.3 million USD, an increase of 135.5 percent in volume and an increase of 157 .0% in turnover over the same period in 2020.
