On January 6, 2022, the Malaysian Government announced new regulations on the import of paper (RCP), banning the import of mixed paper and requiring pre- and post-shipment inspection for all other types of paper, starting from January 10, 2022.
The regulation only applies to purchases made after January 9, 2022. Thus, all goods cleared through customs and delivered out of the port of arrival before February 1, 2022 will be implemented according to the old regulations. However, RCP shipments that have been approved and certified by the Malaysian inspection agency will be exempt from pre- and post-shipment inspection.
